Issues

Energy Policy -- MajorityAmerica.net believes America needs a long term comprehensive plan to ensure our energy independence. While conservation and alternative sources of energy are important in an overall energy plan, they can not be the only alternative. We believe all energy options must be pursued including nuclear, but Congress must act NOW to open up drilling offshore. We also believe new gasoline refineries need to be approved and construction started as soon as possible.

A Strong Economy -- MajorityAmerica.net strongly believes in lower taxes, reduced federal spending and bureaucracy, reduced federal red tape, a reasonable balance between interest rates and inflation and the support of market forces to advance economic growth. We strongly oppose command-and-control government mandates on individual sectors of the economy. We also strongly support a reduction of class action law suites that line the pockets of trial lawyers.

National Defense/Homeland Security -- MajorityAmerica.net believes America's armed forces must be the most modern, best equipped, best trained force in the entire world. For this to happen, federal funding levels must meet the needs of the military. In addition, MajorityAmerica.net has the highest respect for our troops and will always be grateful for the sacrifices the men and women in uniform and their families have made. We also believe that foreign intelligence is not only vital but should remain a priority to ensure this countries security. We cannot afford to return to the 1990s when our foreign intelligence was not a top priority and was critically under funded.

Health Care -- MajorityAmerica.net recognizes that we have the best health care in all the world we need reduce costs and to expand the availability to more American's. We believe this will only happen in the private sector not through forced government intervention. We believe in greatly expanding health savings accounts and offering tax incentives for individuals and families to purchase insurance. We also believe small businesses should be allowed to form insurance "pools" and have the ability to purchase policies over state lines to reduce costs. Lastly, we believe in medical tort reform to help slow rapidly growing medical expenses.

Judges -- MajorityAmerica.net believe that only strict constructionists should be nominated and confirmed to the bench. We believe there needs to be very bright line between the three branches of government. As a reflection of this we also strongly oppose judicial activism and legislating from the bench.

Big Labor -- We strongly oppose the liberal support for eliminating the secret ballot in organizing elections.
